Social Comfort Webinar to eXtension

Thomas presented a full presentation on social comfort to eXtension universities on the 24th of March. Previously, Thomas has only presented the idea of understanding social comfort as one to four slides in his public workshops or presentations. This opportunity has allowed him to expand the ideas in a more public manner. Thomas Vander Wal filled in on Oliver Marks' Collaboration 2.0 ZDNet colomn with Tax On What? Taxonomy on the Intranet guest post. One of common problems stated by nearly every intranet owner is the problem that people can not find anything, nor refind anything. This guest post not only discusses the value and hurdles needed develop and use a taxonomy to help resolve some of these issues, but also includes how to also include a folksonomy to further augment that solutions for even greater value to the organization.

Interop 2009 Las Vegas Shows Strong Interest in Social Search & Social Tools

Thomas had a presentation on Next Generation Search: Social bookmarking and tagging and a full-day workshop on Building the Social Enterprise at Interop Las Vegas 2009. Both were well attended and had really solid questions and interest from those attending.

Head Virtual Conference Presentation Overview

Thomas Vander Wal was one of the presenters at the Head Conference, a completely virtual global conference. He presented his "Seeping Freely Through the Garden Walls" that is previously presented at Reboot.

Web 2.0 Expo NYC Workshop & Interop NYC Presentation

Web 2.0 Expo NYC and Interop NYC 2008 both shared the gigantic Javitz Center in New York and Thomas presented a half-day workshop "Enterprise 2.0 Jumpstart" at Web 2.0 Expo. At Interop he presented "Next Generation Search".

Reboot 2008 Presentations Included Folksonomy & Social Comfort

Reboot 2008 was Thomas& first year attending and presenting. Thomas provided an overview Folksonomy as one presentation and presented Freely Seeping Through the Walls of the Garden. The Freely Seeping... presentation has proved to be quite popular and was the first public discussion around Thomas ideas and finding around social comfort as a key unlocking improve adoption and use of social tools.

Coming To Terms With Sociality at dev.aol.com a Smash Hit

Thomas' recent presentation to dev.aol.com on "Coming to Terms with Sociality" was a smash hit. Feedback from this presentation has been very positive and the organizers have been getting rave reviews and flooded with requests for the video and slides from the presentation.

Thomas Vander Wal Listed at Enterprise 2.0 Leader

Nial Cook (Worldwide Director of Marketing Technology at Hill and Knowlton and founder and chairmen of Cogenz put together a list of Enterprise 2.0 Oscars and lists Thomas Vander Wal as nominated for the "The Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Award (for making business leaders consider Enterprise 2.0 seriously)". The nomination is deeply appreciated.
